Harry Potter books to be made into TV series
A Harry Potter TV series is officially in the works at HBO Max. The announcement was made during Warner Bros. Discovery's presentation to press and investors on April 12, 2023.
The live-action series will be based on all seven books in the series published between 1997 and 2007, and will become a “decade-long series produced with the same epic craft, love and care this global franchise is known for,” according to a statement from the newly branded Max.
Each season of the new series will be an adaptation of each of the seven books, with a brand new cast playing the beloved characters.
The series will be executive produced by J.K. Rowling, alongside Warner Bros. Television president Casey Bloys, and a team of writers and producers.
No further details about the series have been released at this time, but it is sure to be a major event for fans of the Harry Potter franchise.
