What Does Your Favorite Athlete Do On Their Day Off?

Normally on a day off for an average member of the working class, the typical thing to do is sit back on the couch, grab a bag of chips and enjoy your favorite athlete compete on tv for your own amusement.

However, have you ever wondered what that athlete is doing when that worker is grinding their extreme sport? Battling a commute for a 9 to 5 may arguably be as emotionally draining as a nine-inning baseball game if you asked the right person. Nonetheless, everyone needs a break and here’s what your favorite athlete does when in need of one.

The prime example of a day off for someone who rakes in millions you'd assume would be chilling poolside and embracing the aviance of the massive landscape they reside in. Let me tell you, that’s a complete misconception. For example, Cristiano Ronoldo, star forward of Juventes F.C and Portugal National team, could actually be spending his day off with your grandmother. Instead of sticking to the social norms, Ronaldo would much rather spend his day off playing Bingo, as that is one of his favorite hobbies.

Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant on a normal day off trades in his basketball for something more realistic: a game controller. Durant loves playing video games, even against neighborhood kids. His claim to fame, according to him, is “being an expert in 2k and FIFA.” I wonder if he plays as himself or has another favorite player he competes as. Regardless, he’s virtually beating up on kids either on the field or court during an off day.

Moving to outdoor activity on an off day, the Los Angeles Angels Mike Trout can be seen fishing. Ironically enough, Trout prides himself in catching fish as big as 55 pounds however, I am sad to say it wasn’t quite Trout, it was a grouper.

Finally, we have our most interesting favorite way to unwind. Cardinals star pass rusher  JJ Watt, both versatile as a defensive end and tackle, claims his talents are seen better off elsewhere; the kitchen. No, I don’t mean cooking, although he has said that he’s been trying to be better off in that avenue. His REAL plan of action is seen doing the dishes. His love for this mundane task is probably due to the fact that he sadly cannot cook. Watt said he set off his fire alarm three times in one week while attempting to flambé. That's why he decided to stick to doing the dishes.

The next time you have an off day, don’t let anyone tell you that you’re lazy or are being lazy. Just tell that person that you’re doing the same, if not more than, the star athlete of your choosing. Better yet, if you don’t know what to do on your off day, I hope this inspired the hobby you will now allow yourself to become a self-proclaimed master at.
