The Return of Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch has been off TV since the Money in the Bank match last year due to her pregnancy. Rumors have been circulating that she would be returning soon. An exact date isn’t known. A return after SummerSlam could be a good time to set up the next feud for a women’s championship. With WWE going back on tour now, there’s a possibility she could move to Smackdown to be with her husband Seth Rollins. Whether she returns on Smackdown or Raw, her fit will be interesting on either brand.
Raw:
If Lynch returns to the Raw brand, she will be automatically the next challenger for the Raw Women’s championship and rightfully so. She was never beat for the title and had a year-long reign as the champ. When Lynch returns, she will be the biggest face in the company so it wouldn’t be smart to turn her heel without reason. This most likely means that she will need an antagonist to have a feud with and we’ve seen how WWE loves to see her pit against Charlotte Flair. This is a feud we’ve seen numerous times since they both were called up to the main roster back in 2015. However, a potential feud against Rhea Ripley could be interesting. However, for this to work, Ripley will probably have to turn heel. Alexa Bliss could be someone for her to have a feud with as well. Bliss has gone through a lot of changes in her character since the last time they faced each other. Nikki A.S.H is a face so it’s unlikely that they will be going up against each other much anytime soon.
Smackdown:
Smackdown would be the much better place for her to go in my opinion. There are wrestlers that she can feud with there and it won’t have felt like it’s a rivalry that we’ve seen numerous times. People such as Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Zelina Vega, Bayley (When she returns from injury), and even former adversary Sasha Banks if WWE wants to go down that route once again. Another thing Smackdown can give her that Raw can’t is a reason to turn heel. If she were to align herself with Rollins, that can open a new dynamic for her character. She also hasn’t been a member of the Smackdown roster in two years, so a return for her where it began will be something different right now.
The return of one of the company’s greatest wrestlers is well needed. While Smackdown is better for her to return to, Raw needs her a lot more, due to their women’s division and the show itself being stale now.
