Most Underrated NFL Quarterbacks
It’s no surprise that quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are considered as some of the all-time best quarterbacks in the NFL, but, there are some other names across the league that don't get near the amount of respect that they deserve.
Here are the top three most underrated quarterbacks in the NFL:
33 can be a difficult age to start fresh with a new team. This is exactly what Stafford is hoping to do as the newest addition to the Los Angeles Rams. After spending every season of his career in the NFL with the Detroit Lions, Stafford knows nothing outside playing in blue and silver.
Stafford’s stats are what really make you do a double-take of this quarterback. From 2011 to 2017 he managed to throw for over 4,000 yards each season. Not only this, but he has been top-ten in the league in pass attempts per game for nine out of the 12 seasons he has played.
With his great arm and knowledge as a veteran quarterback, he has the ability to be the missing piece the Rams need to have a good run in the playoffs.
Cousins has had quite the reputation since he started his career with the Minnesota Vikings. Many consider him to be the reason Minnesota failed to make it to the 2020 playoffs. But, since 2018 Cousins has been able to achieve a total of 63 touchdowns and 1 interception while in the red zone.
A key factor that makes Cousins a great quarterback is his ability to play well under pressure. By under pressure, I mean the 4th quarter. In 2020 the Vikings’quarterback ranked in first place for his passing grade during the 2020 season.
Turns out Cousins had quite a season for 2020. He managed to achieve a total of 4265 yards, 35 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. So really, there are other factors that need to be put into consideration. A big one is the offensive injuries that Minnesota had for that season. Injuries that really hurt Cousins were offensive linemen Brian O’Neal and Aviante Collins.
Since Minnesota has these All-Star linemen and other All-Star offensive players returning, Cousins is looking like he has the potential to lead Minnesota to a strong playoff run.
An eight-year veteran of the NFL and a quarterback who has managed to throw for over 4,000 yards the past three seasons. This is a quarterback who definitely is underrated when looking at all that he has achieved throughout his career so far and the potential he has for the next several years.
In the 2020 season, he threw for a total of 4,103 yards,27 touchdowns and only nine interceptions. Not only this, but he managed to rush for a total of 140 yards in 2020, which almost doubled his rushing yards in2019.
What's even more impressive is that in 2020 Carr was able to throw three touchdowns against Kansas City and New Orleans, which helped the Raiders pull off a couple of upsets against these top-tier teams.
Carr has the potential to lead his team to a playoff berth, especially if the offensive line can do a better job of giving him more time.
