A Quick Look: Color Trends That Were Popular During the Fall/Winter 2020
Picture this; it’s a brisk 40 degrees outside and you’re choosing an outfit for a productive Saturday. Running errands are involved and so is a possible lunch meet-up with a friend. You want to be comfortable, but you know you also want to be chic because you’ll be encountering all types of people.
A typical outfit that I would choose for this scenario would be a noir pair of Align leggings from Lululemon, a forest green flannel over a t-shirt from Nasty Gal and a nice pair of Dr. Martens to finish off the trendy yet settled look. This past fall/winter season was different for some reason. Although leggings and flannels were still incorporated in popular looks, the color trends are what caught my attention.
The colors that would be worn to an Easter mass were popular in fall 2020. Some of them being baby blue, soft pink, all shades of purple and muted yellow. These colors don’t normally make the cut for designing clothes in my opinion. I personally like how there was a changeup, especially since the world is all about change right now.
Like the fall trends, winter was pretty consistent but added on sage green. I for one loved this color trend and purchased multiple items from Princess Polly and H&M in the color I refer to as pistachio.
Colors like burgundy, tan, black, grey, and dark variations were still popular amongst designs when it came to color trends for fall/winter 2020, there were just the softer additives that really vamped up the fashion industry not only style-wise but financially.
As with all other trend followers, I’m excited to see what Spring/Summer 2021 has in store.
